Croseso i Ddosbarth Bumblebees
For our Year 2 children this is a landmark year, marking the last year in Foundation Phase before moving to Key Stage 2. We are looking forward to an exciting, busy and fun-filled year with lots of opportunities to learn new skills.
During the Autumn Term we will use our imaginations to write about Dragons, Castles and Knights. We will find out what it was light to live in the past through a range of activities including a trip to St Fagans (where the child will have a go at washing clothes).
Our topic in the Spring Term is ‘Magical Kingdom‘ and our role-play area will be a Theatre. We will develop our literacy and communication skills through a range of fair tales. We will develop our investigative skills by investigating and researching Sound, Plants and Living Things and their Environment. An artist will visit us and we will create our very own 3D sculptures.
Finally in the Summer Term, we will have a busy term ahead of us and many interesting fact and skills to learn. We will become explorers, learning about plants and animals that live in the rainforest and visit Folly Farm to see Amazonian Animal close up. We will become Superheroes and have an Action Hero Stage. We will also learn about our local environment and spend the day in Oxwich where we will compare Oxwich to Goweton in the morning and spend the afternoon having a sand sculpture competition and play team games on the beach.
We look forward to a fantastic year where we will continue to Learn, Laugh, Grow and Achieve together and Reach for the Stars!
